Volunteering strategy & solutions
Much of my work is in volunteering, whether building innovative strategy, creating engaging new products or designing practical solutions, for individual programmes or national initiatives.
These diverse experiences have taken me into every corner of volunteering, giving me a unique perspective on the sector’s current trends and challenges.
For example, I worked on a successful volunteering legacy programme from London 2012, ran the National Programmes portfolio at Volunteering Matters and led data and insights in central government’s volunteering unit, during Covid-19.
And as a freelancer I’ve played key roles developing England’s national Vision for Volunteering, delivering both The Big Help Out campaigns, designing new approaches for statutory health and care systems and launching the Digital In Volunteering initiative.
Clients hire me to:
diagnose their challenges and find innovative, workable solutions
create striking, original products that serve the needs of their volunteers and leaders
facilitate learning, build partnerships and engage stakeholders around their volunteering objectives.
Non-profit development
Beyond volunteering I draw on my extensive experience and networks across the UK charity sector, helping non-profits tackle their thorniest issues, supporting them to build resilience, grow and thrive.
Combining business development techniques, marketing approaches in the service of values-driven growth, clients hire me to:
uncover and leverage their key strengths and assets, building new narratives and support cases for their cause
create new partnerships or engage their stakeholders, with neutrality and credibility
provide thought leadership and practical solutions to their strategic and operational challenges.
