Thanks for visiting

I’m a multi-disciplinary strategic implementer that helps UK non-profits to grow and thrive. I spent twenty years working for many different charities and causes, across England and Wales, before going freelance in 2021.

I must create my own system, or be enslaved by another man’s
— William Blake

My staff roles were rarely easy or comfortable. But what I gained was a deep understanding of the non-profit business model - the hardest sector of all in which to operate, working with scare resources, patchy finance, multiple stakeholders and the highest ethical standards.

This has equipped me with a range of valuable assets I can now bring to bear in the service of your mission or challenge: great networks, a toolbox full of solutions and striking, original thinking.

Professional background

I’ve worked for a diversity of front line non-profits, focused on everything from disability to community development, as well as local, regional and national voluntary sector infrastructure bodies.

In these roles I've run departments, delivered major programmes, built new teams, developed new income streams, shaped national policy and created some amazing delivery partnerships.

As a freelancer I tend to specialise in strategy and solutions for volunteer-involving organisations, reimagining their programmes and fixing their structural issues, or working with partnerships to design and deliver volunteering campaigns aimed at growth, awareness, capacity building or digital infrastructure.

And as a serial Trustee/Chair I’ve helped to build new charities from scratch, as well as take existing ones to the next level.

It’s this breadth of skills, experience and networks, forged in pressurised environments with minimal resources, that allows me to create tangible new value for those I support.

Something on your mind?

I’d love to hear more about the challenges you’re facing, and what you’d like to do about them. I think I can help.
